Finding God in the Darkness of Unemployment

"What God Has Done"

"The LORD has done great things for us" (Psalm 126:3)

A Testimony of Faithfulness

THE BOOK IS COMPLETE

After months of obedience,I'm humbled to announce that"The Wilderness of Joblessness: Finding God in the Darkness of Unemployment" is Complete.

•133,000 words

•Sixteen chapters

•One powerful truth

•My Redeemer lives.

But this is not my achievement to celebrate. This is a testimony of what GOD has done.

GOD GAVE THE BURDEN

South Africa faces an unemployment crisis of staggering proportions.Over 30% official unemployment exceeding 60%.Millions of families struggling.Entire communities trapped in generational joblessness.

But statistics are not just numbers. They are people like Lehlogonolo who has skills in his field of work, graduates who passed with honours but can't find work.

•The mother watching her children going hungry after retrenchment

•The father whose identity crumbles because he cannot provide

•The young person losing hope after hundredth rejections

God gave me a burden for these precious people.Not a book idea, but a burden I could not ignore.Like the prophet Nehemiah, I wept.I mourned.I prayed.And then I obeyed:"Yes Lord.I will write ✍️."

GOD GAVE WISDOM

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."-James 1:5

Why the Book of Job?

Because Job's story is the unemployed person's story:

•Sudden, devastating loss

•The silence of God

•Loss of identity

•Wrestling with shame

•The desperate need for a Redeemer

Job sat in the ashes and declared:"I know my Redeemer lives" (Job 19:25).

This is the faith God wants to births in the unemployed -raw, honest, wrestling faith that clings to God even when circumstances scream abandonment.

God gave wisdom for every character. The four-part structure emerged as I wrote, mirroring Job's journey and every unemployed person's path: from crisis, through wrestling, to divine encounter, to practical living.

GOD GAVE STRENGTH

"I can do all things through Him who gives strength." -Philippians 4:13

Writing 133,000 words is hard.It required hundreds of hours, mental exhaustion, emotional investment, balancing  life and pushing through moments when I felt like quiting.

This is not motivational speaking. This is testimony.I experienced God's sustaining grace throughout this entire process.

GOD GAVE PURPOSE

"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28

This book was written for:

Individuals like Lehlogonolo-You are not forgotten.Your worth is not in your employment.God sees you.You Redeemer lives.

FOR FAMILIES

How to support the unemployed member, maintain spiritual health during crisis, prevent bitterness from destroying relationships.

FOR THE CHURCH COMMUNITIES

Equipping churches to minister effectively, create support systems and carry each other's burdens.

FOR SOCIETY AS A WHOLE, SOUTH AFRICA

Raising awareness of unemployed's spiritual dimensions and mobilizing the Body of Christ to action.

But above all, this book's purpose is theological:to point people  to Jesus Christ, the ultimate Redeemer.

GOD RECEIVES ALL THE GLORY

"For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever!Amen."-Romans 11:36

Let me be crystal clear. This book is not my achievement alone.

•If I have any writing skills, God gave it.

•If I have Theological training, God gave it.

•If I completed 133,000 words, God sustained me.

•If this book can help anyone, God will use it.

FROM HIM -The burden came from God

THROUGH HIM-The strength came from God

FOR HIM-The purpose serves God's glory

SOLI DEO GLORIA -TO GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY

Now I trust Him with the fruit of this labour.May He use it to transform lives, heal families, awaken communities, and the whole South African society and point everyone to Jesus Christ -the Redeemer who lives, who intercedes, who sustains, and who will one day make all things new.
